The Icelandic horse has carried many a great hero through this land, and non so great as Grettir the Strong, slayer of bears and berserkers. You will journey into his world on horseback then be regaled by his saga whilst feasting on traditional Icelandic meat soup.

Join us on a voyage back through time to the age of the last Vikings, following the paths worn into the ground by the very same men and women who’s lives influenced that of one of the sagas greatest heroes, Grettir the strong. On this tour you will mount the famous Icelandic horse and ride through Iceland’s nature at its finest as you follow the markers laid down by our forefathers until we reach the story circle complete with roaring fire and a delicious Icelandic lamb meat soup. It is here that you will be told the life of Grettir, the ill-fated hero and last of the Vikings, just a short distance from his birth place, and where his severed head still lies buried.
